Every element of this table speaks to high-end woodworking and advanced resin techniques. By locking a delicate walnut hardwood fretwork cutout inside specialised, optically clear casting resin, the "Tree of Life" appears completely detached from the base wood – floating in its own translucent dimension.
The transition from the rich, deep tones of the walnut inlay to the golden hues of the surrounding oak staves creates an eye-catching contrast that draws the eye inward toward the centrepiece. The seamless, self‑levelling epoxy top‑coat ensures that the entire surface is completely flat, ultra‑smooth, and built to survive daily family life while looking like a gallery showpiece.
The staved oak construction is a demanding technique that requires precision and patience. Each segment of solid oak is cut at an exact angle, then edge‑glued to form a near‑seamless circle. Once cured, the tabletop is sanded flat and refined on a router table. The result is a waste‑free, visually striking top where the oak grains radiate outward like the spokes of a wheel.
