Bandsaw boxes are a unique form of woodworking that allows for organic, flowing shapes impossible to achieve with traditional joinery. Using my trusted bandsaw, I cut each box from a single block of solid wood, carving out hidden drawers that curve and sweep with the grain. The process requires patience and precisionâcutting the exterior shape, removing the drawers, hollowing out the interiors, then gluing everything back together seamlessly.
The result is a box that appears solid until you discover the hidden compartment. Each drawer is fitted by hand to ensure smooth operation, and the high-lustre varnish finish protects the wood while enhancing its natural beauty. Every bandsaw box is carved entirely by hand in my Hebden Bridge workshop. I use sustainably sourced hardwoodsâoak, walnut, and ash depending on availabilityâeach chosen for its grain character and durability. The flocked interior adds a touch of luxury; soft velvet-like material that protects whatever you place inside.

Absolutely. I post all my handcrafted gifts anywhere in the UK using Royal Mail. Each box is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and packed securely to ensure it arrives safely. Delivery typically takes 3-5 working days.
For larger commissions (furniture, kitchens, joinery), yes. For these smaller gift boxes, I generally make what you see in the gallery. However, if you're looking for something specific, contact me and we can discuss possibilities.
